Volkswagen India has launched new automatic variants of the BS6 Polo and Vento. The company has introduced the BS6 Polo GT TSI and Vento Highline Plus at a starting price of Rs 9.67 lakhs and Rs 12.99 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom), respectively. Interested buyers can now book the new automatic variants of BS6 Polo and Vento either through its 360 degrees online retail experience available on the brand’s official website or go to the nearest authorised dealerships. Deliveries for the same will commence from 15th September 2020 onwards.
Under the bonnet, both models come powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that churns out 109 bhp power and 175 Nm torque. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Talking about the automatic variants, they will be offered with a 6-speed torque converter. The BS6 Polo automatic offers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 16.47 kmpl. While the BS6 Vento Automatic promises to deliver a figure of 16.35 kmpl (ARAI certified).
The BS6 Volkswagen Polo GT TSI looks the same as its current manual sibling. However, it gets a few design and feature upgrades. These include black ORVM caps, black rear spoiler, GT TSI badge, and rear bumper with a diffuser. Inside the cabin, it gets a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Volkswagen Connect connectivity suite, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear shift knob, voice command support, and GTI inspired seats are all part of the package. While safety equipment list comprises of rear parking sensors, ABS, and dual airbags among many others.
As for the BS6 Vento Highline Plus, it features LED headlamps with auto-levelling function and DRLs upfront. Further, it gets 16-inch alloys with 195/55 R16 tyres. Coming to the interior, it offers a 6.5-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control with rear AC vents. The cabin also boasts of leatherette seat upholstery. Other feature highlights includes power-folding and adjustable outside mirrors, a rear parking camera, 4 airbags among others.
Company boss, Mike Flewitt, said that the hypercar’s successor will take performance to the next level.
