Yamaha launched its very popular Yamaha R15 V3 in the BSVI variant at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.45 Lacs.

The company has hiked the prices of the bike by Rs. 4,400 as compared to the BSIV model. The company had launched its first BSVI compliant two-wheelers- the FZ and FZ-S around a month ago. However, the new BSVI models will see a slight drop in power.  The new R15V3.0 will be powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will produce 18.6hp of power and 14.1Nm of torque. While the older models produced 19.3hp of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7Nm at 8,500 RPM. The bike will be available in 3 colors – Racing Blue (Rs 1.46 lakh), Thunder Grey (Rs 1.45 lakh) and Darknight (Rs 1.47 lakh).

To match with the color, the Racing Blue variant will get blue-colored wheels as seen in other international bike markets like Indonesia. This could possibly hint towards the BSVI Yamaha MT-15 getting quirky wheel designs.

On the occasion of the launch, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India, Motofumi Shitara said “With Yamaha continuing to perk up track performances with the R series, the new YZF-R15 Version 3.0 with BS6-compliant engine and new features will be able to create optimum excitement in India in its respective category. Yamaha strived for optimum cost control for the new version and achieved to peg it around 3 percent higher along with new standard features.”
