BYD Yuan Up Electric SUV Pictures Leaked Ahead Of Launch in Global Markets

In 2025, the SUV—known as the Yuan Up in China—may be introduced to other international markets.

BYD is preparing a new small SUV for international markets that may sit beneath the Atto 3. The new SUV, known as the Yuan Up in China, is anticipated to make its international debut in the upcoming months and is probably going to be sold outside of China as well. The model's specifications and pictures were made available online by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The new SUV has an enclosed grille and a streamlined nose with sweptback headlamps. With its sleek side vents and inverted U-shaped components, the lower air-dam does appear busier. In terms of profile, the BYD adopts a more conventional style in contrast to some of the bolder designs in the market. The Yuan Up has a streamlined shoulder line with noticeable haunches and lower door cladding. The full-width lightbar and the large skid plate on the rear bumper are two striking design elements.

The dimensions of the new Yuan Up are 1,830 mm in width, 1,670 mm in height, 4,310 mm in length, and 2,620 mm in wheelbase. There will be two powertrain options available: a 70 kW motor for the entry-level model and a 130 kW motor for the higher variants. Additionally, two different battery pack options will be available: a 32 kWh unit and a larger 45.1 kWh unit with a 400 km range.

According to reports, the Yuan Up, also dubbed the BYD Atto 2, may launch into international markets in 2025. Since the Atto 3 is sold as the Yuan Plus in China, the business may choose to use a similar nomenclature for its international markets.
