New-Gen Hyundai i20, Force Gurkha and locally manufactured AMG GLC 43 Coupe launch will take place next month in the Indian market

The festive season has already begun in the country with the celebration of Dussehra last week and now Diwali being around the corner. The manufacturers are unveiling and launching new and updated products in the country to drive sales. We had a brief lull in the automobile market this year due to challenging circumstances caused by Coronavirus pandemic. Now, the market is gathering steam as we have already seen a flurry of big launches like the 2020 Mahindra Thar and Kia Sonet. November will be the same as it will witness a series of launches ranging from the first locally manufactured Mercedes AMG model to the new-gen Hyundai i20 hatchback. The festive season has already begun with the celebration of Dussehra last week while Diwali is just a fortnight away. We bring to you the car launches happening in the month of November 2020 in the Indian market.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe

Mercedes Benz made a big decision recently to locally manufacture AMG models in the country with the AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe to be the first model to roll out of the Chakan, Pune production facility. Since it will be a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) version, pricing would be around Rs 80 Lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The launch is scheduled for November 3, 2020 and will take place virtually. It is a facelifted version of the AMG GLC coupe launched in the international markets in 2019 which never made it to our shores till now. Talking about the performance, the coupe will house a powerful 3.0-litre V6 Bi-turbo engine which will belt out 385 bhp of maximum power output and 520 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired to the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G unit. The coupe will have an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe can go from 0-100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds.

New-Gen Hyundai i20

One of the most awaited arrivals of the year, the new-gen Hyundai i20 launch is happening on November 5, 2020. The South Korean automaker recently released the sketches of the upcoming hatchback with bookings opened at a token amount of Rs 21,000. The 2020 i20 remains quite similar to the model already retailing in the European markets. The new-generation Hyundai i20 will come with major updates in style, performance, design and features. The manufacturer will be offering 3 engine options: 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0-litre T-GDI turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The same engines power the sub-compact Hyundai Venue as well. Indian buyers will get two transmission options: manual and automatic.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross BS6

Isuzu had discontinued the entire line-up of BS4 vehicles due to enforcement of BS6 emission norms from April 1, 2020. Isuzu D-Max V-Cross BS6 will be locally manufactured at its production facility in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. It will come with a number of design updates like dual-LED fog lamps, new LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and larger double slat-grille. The model was first unveiled in the Thai market and will feature a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. The 2020 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will churn out 188 bhp of maximum power output and 450 Nm of peak torque. Expect a six-speed automatic gearbox unit with the engine. The BS4 model was priced at Rs 20 Lakhs (ex-showroom, India), so expect the BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross price a bit higher.

Force Gurkha BS6

BS6 compliant Force Gurkha was first unveiled earlier this year at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. The off-roader launch would have taken place earlier this year but COVID-19 pandemic threw a spanner in the plans. The production-ready SUV has been spotted testing on the Indian roads and it looks quite similar in terms of design to the model unveiled at the Auto Expo in February 2020. The 2020 Force Gurkha will come with circular LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, single-slat grille, revamped front and rear bumpers. The SUV will be powered by a BS6 compliant 2.6-litre diesel engine delivering 89 bhp of power output and 260 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox with a 4X4 drive system. It will rival the 2020 Mahindra Thar in the Indian market.

Audi S5 Sportback

Audi India has been pretty busy this calendar year with an array of product launches in the country. Having said that, it is ready with its sixth launch which is happening next month. Audi S5 Sportback was teased by the manufacturer at the virtual launch of entry-level Audi Q2 SUV a few days back. Despite the teaser obscured, one can identify it by the sloping roofline, four-door layout and distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels. The S5 Sportback will be powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 VFSI engine. The car will belt out a massive 349 bhp of maximum power output and 500 Nm of peak torque. The manufacturer will offer an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission unit with the engine. Expect Audi's’s signature quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) system to come as standard. Talking about the acceleration, the car will go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds.
