Bookings for the facelifted sedan recently crossed 25,000 units.

The popular city looks set to go back on top of the sales charts with bookings crossing the 25,000 mark. Honda’s facelifted City, which was launched at a starting price of ₹8.49 lakh for the base petrol variant, registered sales of 5,948 units in April. The company reported domestic sales of 14,480 units in April, up 38.1 percent.

What remains to be seen if Honda's sedan can rule the mid-size sedan charts once again. Maruti’s Ciaz unseated the City last fiscal to become the country’s highest-selling mid-size sedan, with 64,448 units sold during the year, while Honda sold 57,984 units of the City.

Honda’s facelifted City comes with an electric sunroof, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic LED headlamps, fog lamps, daytime running lamps and LED inserts for the tail-lamps. The top-spec City ZX comes with rain-sensing wipers, a boot lid spoiler and larger wheels. This variant comes with six airbags while the other trims come with two.

The refreshed City is powered by two engines - a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Gearbox options include a five-speed manual or CVT for the petrol, and only a manual for the City diesel. Honda claims the petrol car is capable of 17.4kpl when paired to its manual gearbox and 18kpl with the CVT automatic gearbox. The diesel City, the company claims, returns 25.6kpl.
