Daihatsu to display all-new DN Trec compact SUV; aimed at growing markets.

Daihatsu has gone ahead and completely unveiled their all-new compact SUV concept, the DN Trec. The new compact SUV is aimed at emerging markets and will be shown to the public at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.

The compact SUV features rugged styling, black cladding on both bumpers sides and a black roof. The DN Trec also uses LED headlamps and fog lamps and features cameras instead of rear view mirrors, a feature that we see only on concept vehicles. The DN Trec is based on a version of Toyota’s TNGA platform.

On the inside, the SUV gets red finish and a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre of the silver and red dashboard. Surprisingly, the car features a steering wheel that does not look concept-like, which means it could make its way onto a production-spec version. There are no details revealing the Daihatsu DN Trec concept’s powertrain or launch date. However, we can expect to have more information on the same at the Tokyo Motor Show.
