Automobile enthusiasts love sportcars but baulk at the price quoted for them. In India, BMW Mini Cooper Convertible price starts at Rs 38.3 lakhs while BMW Z4 will set you back by Rs 65.99 lakhs. Imagine an Indian made sports car available at an eye-catching Rs 29 lakhs, you will be overjoyed. DC Design Avanti Modified Roadster is available at Rs 29 Lakh and it’s a convertible.
DC Design is well-known for its exquisite automobile designs. Recently, DC Designs did a custom design Toyota Innova Crysta for Bollywood Star Madhuri Dixit. Not just that, Pune based Automaker transformed Tata Winger into a luxurious palace on the wheels. Their remarkable work on transforming automobiles is appreciated by the customers across the world with their portfolio of 600 plus projects. DC Designs have reinvented itself with a new brand name DC2.
DC Design’s made news when it launched Avanti, becoming India’s first production sports car. When I mention India’s first sports car, I mean it’s designed and developed completely in-house in India. The DC Avanti didn’t reach the popularity partly due to inferior build quality. Furthermore, the overall design seems did not find many takers for its lack of practicality. Dilip Chabaria founded DC Designs had unveiled the RWD Avanti to the world way back in 2012 at the Delhi Auto Expo. DC Avanti was showcased in a coupe avatar and remained unchanged until now. But, we have a surprising update on the Avanti as Big Boy Toyz has listed an MY2019 DC at a price tag of Rs 29 Lakh. It’s not just a normal Avanti, it’s a convertible (Roadster).
The convertible Avanti comes in a blue paint shade with a host of design changes. Its front remains the same while the rear sports a variety of changes. Dual-tone interiors come with a full-screen TFT instrument console, premium materials, touchscreen with the absence of a sunroof. The weight of the vehicle has increased with the addition of new elements while the engine remains untouched. DC Avanti Roadster comes fitted with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. The engine churns out 250bhp of maximum power and 340Nm of peak torque while coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. It has a top speed of 200km/h.
Rs 37 lakhs was the price initially quoted for the Avanti made by DC Designs. In the past, you could have got a limited-edition Avanti generating 310bhp power with a 6-speed AMT and paddle shifters for Rs 44 lakhs.
