Introducing the Honda Elevate: A Breakthrough in Powertrain Efficiency
Having made its grand entrance in India this June, the Elevate SUV has been gaining attention with its powerful yet efficient performance. Last month, it received official approval for our market, solidifying its presence.
Sharing its powertrain options with the popular City sedan, the Elevate boasts a 1.5-liter petrol engine, generating a dynamic 121hp and a torque of 145 Nm. This powerhouse can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT automatic. While a petrol-hybrid version won't be available for the Elevate, Honda is gearing up to unveil an all-electric SUV in the near future.
Fuel efficiency, a hallmark of this SUV, stands out. The manual variant offers an impressive claimed fuel economy of 15.31kpl, while the CVT variant achieves an even more remarkable 16.92kpl. Of course, real-world figures might show some slight variations.
Matched in size to its prominent rival, the Hyundai Creta, the Elevate boasts dimensions of 4,312mm in length, 1,790mm in width, and 1,650mm in height. Its wheelbase stretches to 2,650mm, offering a spacious interior. Notably, the Elevate claims segment-leading ground clearance at 220mm.
The Elevate comes in four distinct trims – SV, V, VX, and ZX – each offering an array of features. Even the base SV trim is equipped with LED projector headlamps, automatic climate control, 16-inch steel wheels, and dual front airbags.
For those seeking the epitome of sophistication, the top-tier ZX trim showcases a wealth of features including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), eight speakers, lavish leatherette brown upholstery, and a soft-touch dashboard. The interior mirror even boasts auto-dimming capabilities. The ZX trim's exterior is uniquely adorned with a striking Phoenix Orange paint option, along with a selection of optional dual-tone shades.
Exciting news for those eager to experience the Elevate firsthand: Test drives are set to commence shortly. Sources from dealerships suggest that the starting price is anticipated to be around Rs 11 lakh. The Elevate is poised to compete with the Hyundai Creta, the recently revamped Kia Seltos, the diesel-powered Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and hybrid offerings from Toyota Hyryder. Additionally, it will stand its ground against the Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun.
