We have some good news amidst the gloom surrounding us, Ducati Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A had released a teaser image of V2 on its social media channel. With the teaser image released, we can be confident of the Ducati Panigale V2 launch in coming months. Italian Motorcycle brand looks to replace the 959 Panigale with BS6 compliant Panigale V2.

Styling-wise, Ducati Panigale V2 looks like a scaled down version of Panigale V-4 with a single-sided swingarm. The V2’s framework is almost the same as the 959 Panigale except for the redesigned rear subframe in order to adapt to the tail section. At the front end, two large intakes are present incorporating full-LED headlight. The full-LED headlight consists of a Daytime Running Light (DRL) and two compact high beam LED modules. The tailpiece has a wing-shaped full-LED tail light with two distinct parts following Ducati sports bike design.

Ducati Panigale V2 will be powered by 955cc, V-twin Superquadro engine generating 155 bhp of maximum power and 104Nm of peak torque. In comparison to 959 Panigale, Panigale V2 produces more power in the form of 5 bhp and 2Nm torque. This increase in performance is due to the addition of new injectors and inlet ducts. Transmission duty is handled by a six-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift up/down EVO 2 system.

The Panigale V2 frame consists of a compact, enhanced-strength die-cast aluminium monocoque structure. The sports motorcycle has a 1,436 mm wheelbase and weight distribution is 52 percent in the front and 48 percent  towards the rear. The Panigale V2 suspension features 43 mm Showa BPF fork upfront and a fully adjustable, Sachs mono-shock at the rear.

The electronics package on Ducati Panigale V2 is based on a 6-axis inertial platform. It offers 3 riding modes namely Race, Sport and Street and can be selected using the new 4.3-inch colour TFT dashboard. Ducati has also added cornering function to ABS, traction control, engine brake control and wheelie control.

With these upgrades, expected the price of Ducati Panigale V2 to be slighlty more than that of the 959 Panigale. From an Indian pespective as and when the sports motorcycle gets launched which would idealliy be towards the end of this year, the price of Ducati Panigale V2 could be around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), India.
