Hyundai Elantra facelift launched in Malaysia.

In 2018, South Korean maker Hyundai had presented the facelift model of their Elantra premium sedan and launched it in the western markets with left hand drive like USA. Now the company has launched the same facelifted 2019 model in Malaysia. With this launch, we have a clear idea as to how the Right Hand Drive (RHD) version of Elantra will look like. With the RHD version of the car now being launched, we have a fair idea as to how the Elantra will look like in India. The company will launch the new model of Elantra in India by the end of the year.

Talking about the version brought to the Malaysian market, it is the closest to the Indian specifications model. The updated Elantra that has hit the Malaysian market is not a lot different to the model that was brought in the western countries in 2018. There are a few aesthetic updates like extra chrome work at the front and different alloy wheels. The variations are very tiny and are not that noticeable unless the two cars are parked side by side.

Comparing the new version of Elantra to the older version, one can see that there are a lot of changes in the new version. The design of the front fascia has changed significantly with the signature trapezoid shaped Hyundai Cascade grille making an appearance at the front with sharp edges. The headlamps of the car have also been tweaked and give the car a more aggressive look. The bumper has also been reworked and the sharp look of headlamps has also been carried over to the fog lamps here. The overall silhouette of the new Elantra is the same as the model that is currently sold in India. The rear too sees a few changes such as the appearance of a revised boot lid, new tail lamps and new bumper that overall make the design of the sedan appear very fresh. Coming to the interiors, the updated Elantra sees changes here as well with the presence of a new steering wheel unit, revised design of the instrument cluster and chrome work on the AC vents on the dashboard.

Hyundai debuted the BlueLink feature with Venue in India that gives the vehicle the ever-connected feature. Seeing the price of the Elantra in the Indian market, the facelifted version is sure to come with the connected feature as well. The BlueLink system gives the users a lot of control over their car remotely. The presence of an eSIM in the car ensures that the car is always connected and the users can access a lot of features of the car remotely. These features include climate control, car immobilizing, geo fencing and others. As far as the mechanicals are concerned, the facelifted Elantra is expected to bear no changes on the engine front.
