The New-Gen 2021 Maruti Celerio is expected to launch by the mid of this year in India

Maruti Suzuki has been extensively testing the New-Gen 2021 Celerio for the last few months in the country. Recently, one of our avid readers Abhishek Mohan spotted a test mule of the new hatchback in Gurgaon. Though, it was fully camouflaged but still we can notice some of the fresh styling elements that it is going to carry. The New-Gen 2021 Maruti Celerio is expected to launch by the mid of this year in the Indian market while competing against the likes of Tata Tiago, Hyundai Grand i10 and Ford Figo in its segment.

Going by the spy images, it is safe to assume that the spied unit is a top-end variant. One can clearly notice the black-finished alloy wheels and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. As for the rear profile, the new-gen hatchback comes with a newly designed vertical LED tail-lamp cluster, rear wiper with washer and a high mounted stop lamp. Though fully covered, the sculpted bumper with reflector inserts can also be noticed. The possibility of rear parking sensors making it to the list of standard safety features cannot be ruled out either. We do not have a clear image of the front fascia but as per the media reports, the New-Gen Maruti Celerio will flaunt all-new headlamps.

The cabin is expected to undergo a major overhaul with a few premium features being added to the hatch. It will borrow some of the elements from the present iteration of the Wagon R. The safety features on-board will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, high speed alert, seat-belt reminder etc. to name a few. Mechanically, the 2021 Maruti Celerio will be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine which will deliver a top power output of 66bhp @6000rpm and peak torque of 90Nm @3500rpm. The bigger and more powerful 1.2-litre petrol engine can also be expected to have a power output of 80bhp and torque performance of 113Nm. The transmission choices on offer should consist of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit.
