Fast track insurance for Kerala flood claims

State-owned companies and one private insurance company said that they will speed up the claims process.

Four state-owned (PSU) general insurance companies stated that settlement processes will be fast-tracked for claims made because of the damage caused in the state of Kerala. National Insurance, New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance and United India Insurance made a statement together saying they are geared-up to receive claim intimations and ensure smooth and expeditious settlements.

Private-owned Reliance General Insurance made a statement on the social media platform Twitter that they have simplified their claims process and have additionally sourced Malayalam-speaking staff to help serve customers better.

An Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) directive issued on August 17, 2018, has asked insurers to expedite settlement of all registered and eligible life-insurance claims related to the floods in Kerala.
