Ferrari has revealed the F8 Tributo, the 488 successor

Ferrari has unveiled the first details of the upcoming F8 Tributo ahead of the Geneva Motor Show. The Ferrari F8 Tributo is the 488 GTB's successor, which carries on with the same 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine.

The F8 Tributo sees major improvements. It produces 720 PS of power and 770 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM and 3250 RPM respectively. The F8 Tributo is said to deliver excellent performance shooting from standstill to 100 km/hr in 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/hr in 7.8 seconds and tops out at 340 km/hr. The F8 Tributo weighs 1330 kgs.

The details of the transmission is scarce but it can be assumed to be a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Along with the bump in power figures, the F8 Tributo also promises of better control and greater on board comfort as compared to its predecessors. With an increase of 10 percent of its aerodynamic efficiency along with Slip Side Angle Control 6.1 guise and Dynamic Enhancer (FDE+) that can be activated in Manettino’s RACE position. The F8 is said to offer brilliant performance in its range.

Designed by Ferrari’s Styling centre, The F8 Tributo has a new redesigned S-Duct which adds 15 percent to the overall downforce. The new compact horizontal LED headlights which make way for the new brake cooling intakes for an improved airflow through the entire wheel arch, eliminating the need of a larger braking system to compensate for the higher speed.

The Tributo’s aerodynamic package is a track development and adopts features from the more track oriented supercars. The rear Lexan screen showcases the engine compartment and its ducts channels the hot air out of the engine compartment. The spoiler design increases the overall rear downforce generated. The cabin looks similar to the cockpit oriented look with completely redesigned dash, door panels and the tunnel. A new generation HMI (Human Machine Interface), new multifunction steering wheel, round air vents along with a 7-inch passenger touchscreen display.
