The company has shown a sporty version of its Yaris, called the Ativ TRD, at the ongoing 2018 Bangkok motor show. The car features various cosmetic changes and this body kit is also expected to be used on Singapore-spec TRD model.
On the outside, you get dual-tone side skirts, the front spoiler and rear faux diffuser are finished in red, and the car is fitted with a redesigned front bumper with enlarged fog lamp surrounds. The boot spoiler is finished in black. There are no TRD badges, special alloy wheels or any mechanical changes made to the car though.
The company has begun accepting bookings for the Yaris in India and the Indian car is powered by a 108hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, petrol engine. The engine is mated ot either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-step CVT automatic. There won’t a be diesel version, but there will be a hybrid variant in the future. The Yaris could be priced competitively in the Rs 8.4-13.5 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
You can get features like gesture control for the touchscreen infotainment system, a tyre pressure-monitoring system, 60:40 rear seat split, adjustable three-neck restraints for the rear seat, a roof-mounted rear air-con with ambient lighting, a powered driver’s seat and front parking sensors.
