FCA intends to phase out diesel-powered cars from the Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep and Maserati brands by 2022. According to a report by the Financial Times FCA will make the announcement in June under a mid-term plan. The company hasn’t said whether this would include diesel-only models like its pick-up truck, or its four vans. Every FCA brand, apart from Abarth, has at least one diesel model in its line-up. The move has seen support from environmental groups such as Greenpeace.

In India, Fiat makes the popular 1.3-litre diesel engine that’s used a lot by Maruti Suzuki and it even makes the 2.0-litre diesel unit that sits in the Compass. The 1.3-litre Multijet will be discontinued come 2020 and Fiat doesn’t intend to upgrade it to meet BS-VI norms.
Yamaha India has recalled 7,757 units of Yamaha FZ FI, FZ-S FI back that are manufactured in October 2019 onwards. The recall is to address the issue related to the non-fitment of the rear-side reflector.
