Bobber-style motorcycle most powerful and expensive of Classic Legend first unit delivery in Hyderabad

Jawa Perak was launched in November 2019 at an introductory price of Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom), Delhi. Bookings began from January 2020 with the delivery scheduled from the first week of April. However, Coronavirus Pandemic delayed the deliveries of this bike leading to a gap of around seven months between launch and the actual delivery. Finally, there is some good news for Jawa customers who are waiting to recieve their cherished set of two-wheels. The company has just  delivered the first unit of BS6 Jawa Perak motorcycle to a customer in Hyderabad. The bike was delivered by the brand's Hyderabad based authorized dealer - Cult Classics.

This means that buyers who had booked the Jawa Perak in January would be finally receiving their new motorcycle in the coming weeks. Jawa Perak is the most expensive and powerful model in the line-up of Classic Legends’ offerings in India. Perak is a bobber-style motorcycle and shares few underpinnings with other Classic Models like the Jawa Classic and Forty Two. The Jawa Perak design is quite eye-catching with a single floating seat having an LED tail light integrated into it. Other design highlights include black aesthetics, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round headlamp, wide handlebars with mirrors mounted on either end and a halogen headlight. The motorcycle comes equipped with a single-pod instrument cluster. The instrument cluster is packed with analogue counters for speed and fuel.

If we talk about performance, Jawa Perak is powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled DOHC engine in comparison to a 293cc motor that is found on the Jawa twins. The engine delivers 30 bhp of power output and 33 Nm of peak torque. It come mated to a 6-speed constant-mesh gearbox. The suspension on the bobber comprises of telescopic forks and adjustable shock absorber. As for the braking system, the flagship motorcycle comes with twin-discs - 280mm in the front and 240mm at the rear. The Perak is offered with a dual-channel ABS as standard.

Competition wise, Jawa Perak rivals the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Benelli Imperiale in the Indian market. BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 is priced between Rs 1.55 lakh - 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom), Delhi while the Benelli Imperiale 400 costs between Rs 1.99 lakh - Rs 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom), Delhi.
