He won after finishing in second in qualifying.

Jehan Daruvala took his maiden win in the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European Championship at Norisring. He is now the first Indian racing driver, after Narain Karthikeyan, to win a Formula 3 championship race.

The extremely fast and flowing street circuit is tricky, instead of tyre walls, mistakes are punished by concrete walls. Jehan clinched top spot with two full-course yellow flag periods. He made no mistakes despite constant pressure from championship leader Maximilian Gunther. Jehan qualified in second, behind Maximilian Gunther.  “Obviously we have been waiting for this win and it is great to finally be on the top step”, said an elated Daruvala.

“I had a good reaction at the start and got Maxi and then the first laps were pretty good. I was under big pressure after the yellow but I just tried to get good exits and not make any mistakes and just controlled it from there”, he added.
