Ford Freestyle Latest Advert Talks of Child Safety

Child safety is one of the most overlooked aspects of the car safety when it comes to India. However, this does not mean that the carmakers are also ignoring the same. A recent television commercial from the US carmaker Ford emphasises on the same. The campaign has been named ‘Discover the More in You’ and aims to connect to the urban youth in the Indian market – an area where Ford sees most of its sales coming from.

Coming back to the advert, the video shows a family riding in a Ford Freestyle and the conversation between the daughter and father leads up to the daughter announcing the intent to adopt a child. The father then asks the daughter to stop the car and ventures out of the Freestyle to go buy a child seat.

Talking about the recent release of the Ford Freestyle advert with a focus on child safety, Rahul Gautam the vice president of marketing at Ford India stated,

“Our latest campaign – Discover the More in You – draws from experiences of our customers for whom the situations in Ford UVs lead to self-discovery, making them choose what’s right. While our campaign continues to encourage viewers to make the right decisions, the third TVC is also a celebration of the changing face of Indian consumers who are confident, optimistic and believe in driving the change they want to see in the society.”

Talking of the Ford Freestyle, it is a crossover style car based on the Figo hatchback. The Freestyle takes on the likes of Tata Tiago NRG, Maruti Celerio X, and VW Cross Polo in the Indian market. The Freestyle comes with a rugged styling defined by the black body cladding all around the cross hatch. Launched in 2018, the Freestyle also managed to race up the sales charts when it was launched. However, the sales of the cross hatch have slowed down in recent times.

The Ford Freestyle is more sharply styled that then Figo and comes with a greater road presence than the hatchback. A great amount of the road presence of the Freestyle can also be attributed to the fact that the cross hatch is a bit larger than the Figo. Ford offers both diesel engine and petrol engine with the Freestyle. The petrol engine is a 1.2L unit rated to deliver 96 PS and 120 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel unit is a 1.5L turbo engine rated to deliver 100 PS and 215 Nm. Both the engines comes paired to a 5-speed transmission and there is no automatic on offer with the Freestyle range.
