A Hyderabad-based EV startup, Gravton, launches its first all-new revolutionary electric bike, Quanta in the country

Gravton Motors, a Hyderabad-based EV startup has launched its first electric bike, Quanta at an introductory price of Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom) in India. However, the prices are likely to increase to around Rs 1.1-1.2 lakhs anytime soon. As per the company, once it gets approval from Fame II Subsidy, the price of the electric vehicle might drop back to Rs 99,000. Initially, Quanta will be sold in Hyderabad. But the company plans to launch it in other cities in the near future.

Quanta is basically designed for rural and urban India. It sits on a unique ‘rib cage’ frame which is further paired to a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. In terms of brakes, it gets disc on both ends. Design bits include all-LED lighting, 17-inch wheels, and a digital dash. It, however, misses out on turn-by-turn navigation. The electric bike is offered in a total of two color options namely Fiery Red and Lightning White.

“With the launch of our first electric bike Quanta today, my dream has come true. While this product is largely meant for riders from across the segments, we also have one coming up in the sports category, primarily meant for action-oriented passionate young bikers. We have constructed and engineered every component in-house and appointed vendors who can create components as per our configuration. We are also delighted to see some top component manufacturers agreeing to manufacture components as per our design and specifications and this truly shows the credibility and believability of our products,” as commented by Parshuram Paka, Founder & CEO Gravton Motors.

Performance-wise, the Quanta features a 3 KW BLDC motor that is engineered for reduced mechanical losses and increased efficiency. It further claims to achieve a top speed of 70 kmph and an instant 170 Nm maximum torque at wheel in any situation. The 3 kWh Li-ion detachable battery gives the scooter a claimed range of over 100 km. In addition, Gravton’s SES (Swap Eco System) offers convenience with an intelligent Urban Mobility Solution. Basically with this feature, the rider can locate the nearest Gravton’s battery station, order an extra battery, and easily summon & swap the battery at any given location. When we talk about the charging system, the electric bike charges at a rate of 1 km/minute. This means that when on regular mode, the battery takes 3 hours to get fully charged. Moving on, Quanta comes with a five-year battery warranty and easy replacement assurance.

Talking about the Quanta Smart App, it gives the rider full control. One can easily access roadside assistance(RSA), remote lock/unlock, mapping service stations, and turning on or off the lights from a remote distance. Through the GOTAC Unique ECU feature, the rider can easily access the whereabouts and overall health of the vehicle. Also, vehicle tracking and remote immobilization can be accessed through the Smart App.
