Hero MotoCorp Sells 4.5 Lakh Bikes in India Post Lockdown

Hero MotoCorp witness vertical growth in the sales numbers by selling 5.63 lakh units in the first quarter of FY’21.

The world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp managed to sell over 4,50,744 units in the month of June in comparison to the 1,12,682 units sold in the month of May. This is a direct sequential growth of four times and has actually helped in the revival of the domestic two-wheeler sector in the month of June. The COVID’19 lockdown restriction has affected the sales in the first quarter of FY’21. Furthermore, it led to the closure of plant operations and retail outlets throughout the entire month of April and most of May. Despite the challenging time, the company managed to sell a total of 5,63,426 units of two-wheelers in the first quarter of FY 2020-2021(April-June). When compared to June 2019, the brand has witnessed a 26 percent dip in sales number. It had sold a total of 6.16 lakh units in June 2019.

In the month of June this year, the company launched an integrated online sales platform named eSHOP. This digital platform provided a seamless buying experience to the customers. Interested buyers could easily get all purchase-related information. Furthermore, they can also purchase their preferred two-wheeler directly from the company’s website in a transparent manner. Apart from this, the company had also rolled out various initiatives and offers with an aim to revive the trust and faith that the customers repose in the brand ‘Hero’. 

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO Hero MotorCorp said, “We have demonstrated phenomenal leadership quality and tenacity to clock a sharp vertical growth in our sales at a time of massive disruption and uncertainty. This is an overwhelming reiteration of the enduring trust and faith that our customers repose in Brand Hero".

With the ease of lockdown restrictions, the company commenced the production across its eight manufacturing facilities, six in India and two in global markets under strict safety guidelines issued by the Government. Until now more than 95 percent of the customer touchpoints of the brand have been made operational. In such a time of uncertainty, HeroMotoCorp has been able to see a sharp vertical growth in its sales numbers. Recently, the brand launched the new BS6 Xtreme 160R in a price range of Rs 99,950 - Rs 1,03,500 (ex-showroom).
