Honda has unveiled the two-seater microcar CI-MEV electric vehicle at the Japan Mobility Show 2023.

Honda Cars has showcased the microcar CI-MEV, an electric vehicle, at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. The microcar CI-MEV is the world’s first 2-seater EV that is equipped with level-4 ADAS technology. The Honda CI-MEV is a two-seater mini car available on three wheels as well. The Japanese automaker has unveiled many models at the Japan Mobility Show, but this is the most-awaited model. At the event, Honda also unveiled an electric two-door coupe, the Prelude Concept.

In India, MG Motor launched the Comet Electric vehicles this year, and the look of the Honda CI-MEV is like one of the Comet EVs. However, the Comet EV is different in size as it has four seats, while the microcar CI-MEV houses only two seats. The two-seater microcar CI-MEV comes with six wide-angle cameras. One camera is fixed inside the right and left A-pillars, while the other one is in the lower part of the right and left door mirrors. The cameras available in the microcar provide a 360-degree view of the encircling area. With the help of the camera, drivers can easily detect bicycles, pedestrians, and other vehicles.

Honda Cars says that this microcar is better than a regular car as it has a small turning radius that makes it easier to drive in busy areas, and it gets level-4 ADAS technology. This two-seater CI-MEV uses autonomous driving technology and the company’s original Cooperative Intelligence (CI). This microcar is being manufactured as a demo vehicle for automobile electric mobility. The passengers will have to call the minicar to their current location and dictate their destination to the self-driving minicar.

Under the hood, the Honda CI-MEV is equipped with 4 removable batteries known as the Honda Mobile Power Pack. The batteries available in the Honda CI-MEV do not depend on petroleum, as they can be charged with green electricity.
