Honda Cars India recently announced the replacement of fuel pump in 65,651 units of a range of its cars manufactured in 2018. There are high chances that the fuel pump that have been installed in these vehicles may contain defective impellers, that could over time result in engine stopping or not starting.
The company has selected a few models manufactured in the year 2018 for this. The compact sedan Honda Amaze accounts for 32,498 units while the Honda City accounts for 16,434 units. 7,500 units of the premium hatchback Honda Jazz and 360 units of Honda Brio are accountable for this replacement of the fuel pump.
This replacement of fuel pumps will be done free of cost at Honda dealerships across India in a phased manner starting from June 20, 2020. The customers can submit the 17 characters alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number(VIN) on the microsite created on the corporate website to find out whether their car comes under this campaign or not. Due to coronavirus, all the dealerships across India are operating with a limited staff under strict guidelines issued by the Central Government. In order to follow the social distancing and safety norms, the customers have been advised to take a prior appointment before visiting the dealership.
