Honda City Gets Google Assistant with 10 New Features

Being touted as 'Honda Action on Google', it can be operated with the 'Ok Google' command

Honda Cars India has introduced an advanced version of Next Gen Honda Connect with Google Assistant in the City sedan in the country. Just so you know, the fifth-gen Honda City already boasts of Alexa remote capability. Being touted as 'Honda Action on Google', it can be operated with the 'Ok Google' command while it comes with 10 voice command features. These voice commands can be executed by Google Assistant enabled devices such as Google Nest Speakers, Android phones, etc. Furthermore, it is compatible with iOS devices too.


The 10 voice enabled features in Honda Connect can also be used by text based command functionality of Google. These features include Valet Alert, Fuel Log Analysis, Cost of Maintenance Analysis and Enhanced options for Service Products. Rajesh Goel, SVP and director, sales and marketing, Honda Cars India, said, “Consumers are increasingly seeking products and solutions that make their life easier and cater to their on-the-go lifestyle in a seamless manner. As we celebrate the anniversary milestone of our successful 5th Gen Honda City, we are delighted to introduce voice- based Google Assistant interface with our Honda Connect platform which will offer convenience to stay connected with your car while performing daily routine activities.”


The Japanese carmaker has also rolled out 4 new functionalities along with 36 new features. Honda City comes loaded with a 20.3cm touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay & Weblink. Recently, the brand introduced Alexa Remote Capability and Bluetooth for Hands Free Telephony & Audio Streaming support. Being launched last year in June, the 2020 Honda City is presented in three trim levels namely V, VX and ZX with both manual and automatic gearbox options in petrol fuel trim. There is no automatic transmission on offer in diesel fuel trim. Honda City petrol price starts at Rs 10.99 Lakhs and goes as high as Rs 14.74 Lakhs for the top-end variant. On the other hand, Honda City diesel is priced in a range of Rs 12.59-14.94 Lakhs (All the aforementioned prices are Ex. Showroom).
