Honda has taken the wraps off the CB500 range of motorcycles. The CB500 range has three types of motorcycles - a roadster CB500F, a sports bike CBR500R and an adventure bike CB500X.
The CB500F roadster gets an overall redesigned style. The headlight unit of the bike is more angular and muscular side shrouds very well accentuates with the fuel tank. The CBR500R has been restyled and the CBR1000RR Fireblade is the inspiration of the smaller bike. Lastly, it’s the purpose-built adventure motorcycle, CB500X.
All the three motorcycles are equipped with a new rear monoshock suspension, slipper clutch, full LED headlights and taillights, LCD display as an instrument cluster with gear position and shift-up indicator and new exhaust muffler. Moreover, the CB500X gets a 19-inch front wheel, long suspension travel both at the front and rear, wider steering angle and strong fairing.
Powering these motorcycles is a 471cc parallel-twin engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The intake and exhaust have been reworked, new fuel injectors were installed and valve timing was also changed. With all these changes the engine now produces more low-to-midrange power and torque. Honda hasn't yet confirmed the launch of these bikes in India.
