Hyundai Motor Company was all set to launch Alcazar on April 29, 2021. But due to the recent surge in the Covid-19 cases across the country, the automaker has postponed the launch. The prices for the seven-seater SUV will now be announced by late May 2021. The South Korean automaker unveiled the Alcazar earlier this month.
The SUV shares a number of key design elements with the new-gen Creta. However, it does get minor changes in order to make it look different from Creta. Upfront, the Alcazar gets a new grille design. In addition, it also features a redesigned bumper, new wraparound tail lights, faux dual exhaust tips, a rear quarter glass, and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels.
The new Hyundai Alcazar will be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations. The 6-seater variant will get captain seats in the middle row with a unique floor-mounted central armrest. While the 7-seater variant will offer a bench seat in the middle row. The three-row SUV will come equipped with a plethora of features. These include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, automatic climate control, among many others. Furthermore, the SUV comes with three driving modes - Eco, City, and Sport.
Performance-wise, the Alcazar gets the 1.5L diesel engine that has been carried over from the new-gen Creta. The unit develops the same 113 bhp power. It can further be availed of with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Besides this, the seven-seater SUV will also get a bigger 3rd Gen Nu 2.0L petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 156 bhp.
