Hyundai Creta 7-Seater all set to make its debut in the country in early 2021; likely to be longer and more spacious than the 5-seater version.
Hyundai Motor India has trademarked the name Alcazar in India on April 13, 2020. As per a leaked document scan, the name is proposed to be used for its upcoming seven-seater SUV. The Creta 7-Seater is likely to hit Indian showrooms by early 2021. However, the test mules were spotted on a number of ocassions in the company’s homeland South Korea earlier this year. The model has also been spied testing on the Indian roads as well.
According to recent spy shots, the Hyundai Creta 7-Seater is likely to be longer and more spacious than the 5-seater version. Cosmetically, the front fascia of the 7-seater model will be similar to the 5-seater Creta. However, the former will receive subtle design changes that will differentiate it from its younger sibling. It will feature a new radiator grille with chrome inserts, inspired from the Hyundai Palisade. The headlamps and fog lamp assembly will be similar to the one present on the 5-seater version. However, the lower air intake will be bigger and the skid plate will be smaller. The SUV is also likely to get new taillights and revised bumpers.
As for the interior features, the 7-seater model is likely to get new upholstery and dashboard colors, giving it a premium feel. Apart from this, it will also get an additional 3rd row of seats that can easily accommodate two passengers. Other highlighted features will comprise of a 360-degree parking camera, front parking sensors, and configurable ambient lighting.
Under the skin, the Hyundai Creta 7-Seater is likely to get the same engine options as the one present in the 5-seater version. It will draw power from the three BS6 powertrain options borrowed from the Kia Seltos. A naturally aspirated 1.5 litre MPi petrol engine that delivers 115 bhp power and 144 Nm torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, while a CVT gearbox is offered as optional. A 1.5 litre turbocharged U2 CRDi engine which belts out 115 bhp of maximum power output with a peak torque of 250 Nm. It can be availed with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. There is also the high-performance 1.4 litre Kappa T-GDi engine which has a maximum power of 140 bhp and peak torque of 242 Nm while linked to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
