Hyundai Motor India had announced that they would be launching the Grand i10 NIOS CNG variants in March. But due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the soft launch of this particular hatchback got delayed. However, Hyundai updated its website and has now confirmed the availability of the bi-fuel variants.
The CNG compatible version of Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS is available in two variants namely Magna and Sportz. The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Magna CNG is priced at Rs 6.62 lakhs (ex-showroom) while Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Sportz CNG has been priced at Rs 7.16 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Mechanically, the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG will source power from a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre Kappa dual VTVT petrol bi-fuel engine that delivers 81 bhp power and 114 Nm torque for petrol and 68 bhp power and 95 Nm torque for CNG. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The CNG tank capacity of the vehicle is 60-litres while the petrol tank stands to offer 37-litres.
The price difference between both the variants is of Rs 54,000. The Sportz variant is a little pricier as it comes equipped with a host of features like front projector fog lamps, rear parking camera, rear defogger, and alloy wheels. As for interior, the Sportz model gets an 8-inch smart touchscreen infotainment system which comes compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is voice recognition, fully automatic air conditioner and a 5.2-inch multi-information display tucked inside the digital speedometer cluster.
