Hyundai India Rolls Out 1 Croreth Car from Chennai Facility

Hyundai India has rolled out the 1 Croreth car from the assembly line of its Chennai facility in the country. The South-Korean automaker is the quickest to achieve this milestone. The recently launched Alcazar 7-seater SUV was the 10 millionth car to roll out of the production line at the brand’s plant in Sriperumbudur. Thiru. M.K.Stalin, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu signed on the car bonnet to mark the momentous occasion. Hyundai has an annual production capacity of 7.50 lakh units at the plant.

Commenting on the occasion of the fastest 10 Million car roll out, Mr. S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “This historic milestone of the 10 millionth car roll-out is a testimony of Hyundai’s commitment towards the Make in India initiative. Giving a boost to the Union Government's Make-in-India initiative, Hyundai has invested around 4 Billion USD in the local manufacturing of cars in India. It has generated over 2.50 Lakh jobs in Tamil Nadu. The company has a workforce of 15,000 at the manufacturing unit. To mark the roll out of the 10 Millionth car, it announced a slew of community-centric social value initiatives for the state of Tamil Nadu. It included inauguration of Dream Village Project 2.0 – Construction of Child Care Centre benefiting 500 people annually and Community Hall with a capacity to accommodate 1500 people at Katrambakkam village in Sriperumbudur. It also donated 5 life-saving ventilators to Government Hospitals at Kancheepuram.
