There is a rising demand for EVs globally as sustainable development is becoming a buzzword. Hyundai Motor Company is one of the major players in the EV segment and plans to augment its portfolio in the coming years. The South-Korean automaker is making a big push in the electric vehicle space with three launches scheduled to happen in the next few years under its Ioniq brand. Recently, Hyundai revealed the all-new Kona and Kona N-Line Electric SUVs. Hyundai Kona had first arrived in the market way back in 2018 and became the face of EV revolution for Hyundai. The New Kona N Line SUV is targeted towards consumers looking for performance-oriented electric vehicles. The focus is on giving the Kona e-SUV a far more attractive design outlook with the Hyundai design team naming the new design theme as Sensuous Sportiness.
So what have we learnt from the teaser images? Well, the new Kona is sleeker in appearance as compared to the current model. The upcoming electric SUV comes with a wider stance and a shark-inspired nose. Other key design highlights are updated DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), front skid plate and bumper giving a tough and imposing yet elegant feel. The DRLs of the all-new Kona are quite similar to the new Hyundai Tucson facelift which was recently launched in the Indian market.
Talking about the new Kona N-Line SUV, the logo is embossed on the grille compared to the regular model where the logo is positioned above the hood. The headlamps are designed to give an appearance of Shark’s fins. The new Kona N-Line gets a more aerodynamic design with low-set air intakes. More aggressive front bumper, corner fins and lean crease lines are the key design elements of the high-performance electric SUV. The LED lamps are positioned just below the headlamps. The rear isn’t visible in the teaser images released so far but expect spoiler and aerodynamically design elements.
More information is expected to be divulged in the coming days with respect to the cabin features as well as the performance figures of the 2021 Hyundai Kona models.
