Tata Tigor EV has been on sale in the Indian market for more than a year now. But, the company has already started testing the facelifted version of the sedan as it was captured on Mumbai roads wearing heavy camouflage by a CarandBike reader. Tata Tigor Electric facelift is expected to launch in the second half of 2021 in the country. The 2021 Tigor EV facelift is expected to come with a host cosmetic changes - inspired by the BS6 version of standard Tigor - while mechanically it will be similar to the ongoing model.
Going by the spy-shots, the cosmetic changes are too much noticeable due to the heavy camouflage but it appears to be a base trim with covered steel wheels. Recently, a near production-ready test mule was also spotted without any camouflage. Earlier, it was speculated that the upcoming 2021 Tata Tigor EV would have an identical appearance to the ICE version with a glossy black grille and sharper nose upfront. It was also supposed to flaunt new projector headlamps with LED DRLs and chrome treatment all around. The bumper was also expected to be tweaked with horizontal housings for fog lamps and broad air-dams. The 'EV' badging will be retained from the current model.
The cabin might also see a plethora of updates too such as new upholstery color, updated infotainment system and new features. There is strong buzz that Tata might equip it with Altroz's three-spoke steering wheel. The other features could include the latest touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, semi-digital instrument cluster and Harman Kardon music system. As for safety of the occupants, it will be fitted with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard. The 2021 Tata Tigor EV facelift will draw power from the same electric motor which will be paired with a 21.5kWh battery pack to deliver top power of 40bhp and peak torque of 105Nm. The driving range is expected to be the same at 213kms on a single charge. It could be expensive by a few thousands over the current model.
