South Korean automaker Hyundai will bring in updated models, facelifts, and all-new cars to India.

South Korean carmaker Hyundai has made steady progress in the Indian market over the years, and has come to occupy the second spot on the sales charts in the market. Now the manufacturer is in the process of updating its model line-up in India. Maruti Suzuki’s major rival, Hyundai will bring in updated models, facelifts, and will also launch all-new cars in India to expand its product line-up in the country. In the bid to do the same, the South Korean maker is hitting on all cylinders and plans to launch as many as 9 new cars in the Indian market. Let’s take a look as to what cars will Hyundai bring to the market under its aggressive strategy to challenge the top spot holder Maruti Suzuki.

Hyundai Grand i10

Hyundai will launch the car by the middle of 2019.

Highlights – Major changes on interior and exterior front. Larger touchscreen infotainment system on the inside and a rumored sunroof. No changes in the engine, new torque converter automatic gearbox instead of existing AMT transmission.

Hyundai Xcent

Hyundai to launch the car by the middle or end of 2019

Highlights – All-new version to replace the current model. Major changes on design and exteriors, new features on the inside including floating infotainment system and fast charge USB socket. No engine changes likely.

Hyundai Styx

Hyundai to launch the SUV by third quarter of 2019

Highlights – All new car by maker to rival Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and Tata Nexon. Based on Santro’s platform. Three engines on offer -- 1.4-litre petrol unit (99 Bhp), 1.4-litre diesel engine (89Bhp), 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol (100 Bhp).

Hyundai Kona EV

Hyundai to launch the electric car by third quarter of 2019

Highlights – First EV by company in India. To come with 2 battery pack options -- 39.2 kWh (310 km range) and 64 kWh battery unit (480 km range).

Hyundai Verna

Hyundai to launch the car by middle of 2020

Highlights – Major changes in design and performance upgrade. To be offered with new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Future hybrid model also expected on the petrol version, though at a much later stage.

Hyundai Creta

Hyundai to launch the SUV by 2020

Highlights – All-new model to replace the existing version of the car. Second Hyundai car to be hybrid and all-electric upgrade ready for future. Changes on design front, possible addition of new features on car.

Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai to launch car by middle or end of 2019

Highlights – Company to launch facelifted model of executive sedan. Design tweaks on the new model expected. Interior feature upgrades also expected.

Hyundai Creta (7-seater)

Hyundai to launch this version of SUV by end of 2020

Highlights – Bestselling Creta’s 7-seater version. To be based on same platform as upcoming Kia SP. Changes on interior and features front for new model. To cost more than the 5-seater version of Creta.

Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai to launch facelifted SUV by third quarter of 2019

Highlights – Company to launch facelifted version of existing model. Major changes on features and equipment front. Changes on exteriors front as well. Feature changes such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and 360-degree camera. No changes on engine front expected.
