Hyundai Venue Amasses 50,000 Bookings in India

Hyundai Venue has been off to a flying start in the Indian market and the bookings of the SUV from the South Korean brand has created a disruption in the segment. The brand recently stated that their latest offering in the market has gone on to amass 50,000 bookings within 2 months of being launched in the Indian market. The long established dominance of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza looks threatened as of now, if the Venue continues to perform in the market, they way it is performing as of now. If the Hyundai Venue juggernaut goes equally strongly into July, Brezza may be dethroned from the top rung of the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment in the Indian market. However, Maruti is working on bringing a facelift to the Maruti Brezza in the Indian market.

Perhaps it is the severely competitive starting price of the Venue that has managed to win the brand so many fans in such short a time. Talking of the latest offering from the brand, the segment leading features on the Venue are 3 year/unlimited Kms warranty, 7 speed twin clutch automatic gearbox and air purifier function for the air conditioning. Safety features are also a aplenty on the SUV with the Venue coming with push button start, keyless entry, LED DRLs, cruise control, 6 airbags on the top-end variant, ABS, EBD, ESP, hill hold and traction control.

Speaking on the occasion of the latest offering from the brand amassing such huge bookings numbers in such a small time, the national sales head of Hyundai India, Vikas Jain, stated,

The Hyundai VENUE has been able to strike a chord with the iGen customers who seek future technology, Space, Comfort, Safety and Ergonomics with new age style. We are extremely overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response and milestone created by VENUE with 50,000 bookings within sixty days of launch. We are glad that Indian customers have shown their faith in the Blue Link Connected Technology as out of the total VENUE delivered so far, over 55% of the cars are Blue Link Enabled Variant. Out of the 50,000 bookings, over 35% of customers have preferred the Hyundai’s in house Best in Segment -DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) Technology. Our SUV market share is 21% with the combined sales of VENUE, CRETA and TUCSON.

As far as the mechanicals of the Venue are concerned, the South Korean maker is offering a new 1 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine rated to deliver 120 PS and 175 Nm, this engine has been developed by the company in-house. This new engine comes with a 7-speed twin clutch gearbox and a 6 speed manual. As far as the other engines are concerned, there are two more options with the first one being a 1.2L petrol rated for 82 PS and 114 Nm and mate to 5 speed manual gearbox. The second one is a 1.4L turbo diesel engine rated for 90 PS and 220 Nm and mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The SUV will be sold as a front wheel drive car and there will be no all-wheel drive on offer, even as an option.
