South Korean carmaker Hyundai has announced that the upcoming Venue will be launched in India on 21 May. The company has already unveiled the SUV. Upon launch the Hyundai Venue will lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, and Honda WR-V in the Indian market. Since the launch date of the sub-4 meter SUV in now just a week away, the company has not started dispatching units to its dealerships across India and the SUV has been clicked while this process is taking place.
The phots of Venue that have surfaced online show the turbo model of the SUV. This model of the car comes with the choice of a manual and a DCT automatic transmission. However, the photos that have surfaced online are of the automatic variant of the car as one can clearly see the DCT branding on the back of the vehicle. The gear stick also shows that the car is indeed the DCT model.
The company has begun taking the bookings for the upcoming Venue via its showrooms in the country. What the company has lost on time, it aims to make up on the features aspect and there are enough bells and whistles here that have been brought to the segment for the first time. Talking about the looks of the Venue, the new sub-4 meter compact SUV’s overall silhouette reminds one of its larger sibling Creta. However, the front and the rear styling of the new sub compact SUV lend it completely different looks. The chrome accented grille at the front and the swapped places of the headlamps and the LED DRLs greet the viewers at the front while at the rear there are LED tail lights and the Hyundai and Venue branding sit at the center of the tail gate.
Coming to the interiors, one finds that the overall look of the dashboard is pretty clean and at the center sits the touchscreen infotainment unit with the AC vents flanking its sides. There are controls mounted on the steering and also is present a fast charge port in the central console. Apart from the interiors, there are a lot of safety features present in the newly revealed Hyundai Venue. These features include ABS, 6 airbags, vehicle stablity control, hill hold, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The brand had already stated that the connected feature of the SUV will arm it with 33 features out of which 10 are India specific. The BlueLink technology in the Venue offers remote start, headlamp control, AC, windows and horn control. Other features include emergency assist, real time traffic alert, remote car immobilizer, car tracker, and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
As far as the comfort features are concerned, Hyundai has left no stone unturned here as well with the Venue getting electric sunroof, cruise control, air purifier, wireless charging, voice recognition, Arkamys stereo system, rear AC vents, and cornering lamps among other.
