Hyundai expands the variant lineup of Venue with the introduction of two new variants

Hyundai Motor Company has revised the variant lineup of its sub-compact SUV, Venue lately. Two new variants - S(O) and SX(O), have been introduced for the model. At present, the prices for Hyundai Venue starts at Rs 6.92 lakhs (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 11.78 lakhs (ex-showroom). 

Talking about the newly introduced variants, the base S(O) trim has been introduced with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. It falls in the price range of Rs 9.03 lakhs - Rs 9.94 lakhs (ex-showroom). The SX(O) Executive, on the other hand, is offered with 1.5-litre diesel engine only. The turbo-petrol motor can be availed with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This trim is priced at Rs 10.97 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Hyundai has discontinued the 1.0 Turbo SX(O) manual variant. Besides this. The E and S diesel variant has also been axed out. This further confirms that a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a manual gearbox is offered with E, S, and S+ variants of Venue. Moving on, the 1.5-litre diesel is offered with a manual gearbox only in S(O), SX, SX(O) Executive, and SX(O) trims. While the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol can be availed with a manual transmission, auto-clutch iMT, and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The 1.0-litre T-GDi is available on the S(O), SX, SX(O) and SX+ trims. Feature-wise, the S(O) trim gets steel wheels and updated Blue Link connected car technology. The SX(O) Executive variants get steel wheels with wheel caps. 


Hyundai Venue rivals the likes of the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Renault Kiger. Besides these, Hyundai is currently busy preparing to launch a small SUV codenamed AXI. This new model will be positioned under the Venue and will compete against the likes of Tata’s upcoming HBX concept-based SUV in the market.
