The Creta rival will launch during this festive season

The India-spec Captur was unveiled in Moscow last year and is already sold in countries like Russia and Brazil. India will get the first right-hand drive version of this car. In Russia, this car is badged the “Kaptur” but will be badged the “Captur” in India, according to sources.

As far as styling is concerned, it will resemble its international counterpart, and it will primarily be based on the existing Duster platform. The car will be positioned above the Duster in the company’s India line-up.

The Captur will be powered by a combination of the Duster’s Engines. Both petrol and diesel options will be available at launch, however, the 1.5-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel will be mated to a manual transmission initially. An automatic gearbox and 4WD will be added later.

The car comes fitted with full LED headlamps flanked by LED daytime running lights, dual-tone exterior and interior colours, and it features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with media navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. The Captur will be direct competition for the Creta in the Indian Market and will be priced in the same region.
