India-Spec Norton Atlas Range Revealed

Norton has unveiled the Atlas Range of motorcycles which includes Atlas Ranger and Atlas Nomad.

British brand Norton is on a spree of bringing bikes to our shore. The company first launched the limited edition models of the Commando and Dominator, and now it has unveiled the Atlas range which consists of two bikes the Atlas Ranger and Atlas Nomad.

Both the bikes in the Atlas range have been built around a twin-tube steel perimeter chassis. The design and styling cues of both the bikes are quite similar to each other. The Atlas Nomad is a road biased motorcycle while the Atlas Ranger is best suited for trail riding.

The Atlas Ranger gets a larger 19-inch wheel on the front, a bash plate, a tall-placed front fender, a headlight grille, a 200 mm travel front suspension and a seat height of 867 mm. On the other hand, the Atlas Nomad has an 18-inch front wheel, a 150 mm travel front forks and seat height is at 824 mm. This bike neither has a bash plate nor comes with a headlight grille.

These bikes come with a 15-litre fuel tank, a tall placed exhaust and LED lightings which include headlight, tail light and turn indicators. The anchorage to the bikes is provided by twin Brembo monoblock callipers with a twin 320 mm disc on the front and a 245 mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard on both the bikes.

The motorcycles are powered by a 650cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine that delivers 84 BHP and 64 Nm of torque. The bike will come with five paint options – Titanium Grey, Manx Silver, Royal Red, Galactic Black and Diamond White. These bikes will have a premium price tag and will be launched in 2020.
