Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander is a premium variant in the D-Max S-Cab range

Isuzu Motors India has been readying its BS6 fleet of vehicles for quite some time now. Recently, our friend at Team-BHP spotted the D-Max Hi-Lander at a company dealership in the country. For those asking, Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander is a premium variant in the D-Max S-Cab range. In addition, the Japanese automaker will also launch the BS6 2021 D-Max V-Cross in the coming months in the Indian market. Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander price is expected to be nearly Rs 5 Lakhs more than the entry-level S-Cab variant in the D-Max range.

Speaking of the D-Max Hi-Lander, it has a ground clearance of 225mm. It also does not boast of any speed limiter. Moreover, the Hi-Lander variant gets a sportier exterior styling with tweaked bumpers and newly designed steel wheels along with silver-finished caps. As for features, Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander is believed to come with an array of basics such as a music system with 4 speakers, tilt steering, manual air-conditioning, and front & rear headrests as standard. As far as safety features are concerned, the pick-up will get dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Seat Belt pre-tensioner with Load limiters, Steel underbody skid plate, and front disc brakes.

Sadly, the Hi-Lander variant will miss out on the touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity. Mechanically, it could draw power from the company's tried-and-trusted 1.9L diesel engine which would produce a top power of 147bhp and peak torque of 350Nm. The vehicle spotted at the dealership had a manual transmission but we could not locate the all-wheel-drive system. On the other hand, the D-Max V-Cross will be offered with Isuzu's four-wheel-drive system as standard. Meanwhile, in other news, it has been learned that the brand is not too keen on introducing the next-gen MU-X SUV in the Indian market as it will continue with the older model, albeit with a BS6 engine.
