Tesla is recalling 1,337 2023 Model S, Model X, and Model Y vehicles to repair misaligned cameras that may cause forward collision avoidance and other semi-autonomous technologies to fail unexpectedly. Tesla's partially automatic drive software is dependent on external cameras to function successfully, rather than the more common use of radar/lidar for redundant safety. A misplaced camera can render Tesla's systems completely inoperable.
