A panel of twenty-six women motoring journalists award the F-Pace as both best SUV/Crossover and Supreme Winner for 2016.

Started eight years ago, the WWCOTY award is considered to be one of the most coveted in the automotive world. The ‘Supreme Winner’ for 2016 was Jaguar’s F-Pace. The car also won the award for best SUV/Crossover as well.

Dr Ralph Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), while accepting the WWCOTY trophy, said, “This award is something special!” Ian Callum, director of design at JLR, received both SUV/Crossover winner certificate and the Supreme award winner certificate for the F-Pace. He said, “I’m speechless.”

The voting process was rigorous, each juror had to send her recommendation of eligible cars, (to be eligible the car had to be sold across a minimum of 10 countries). The voting process involved a series of rounds until the final winners of each category were decided upon as well as the car that would get the top honour or the ‘Supreme Winner’. Auditors Grant Thornton assisted the entire process.
