The Jaguar I-Pace has scored a rating of full 5-stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests.

The Jaguar I-Pace became the 10th consecutive Jaguar car to score a perfect 5-Star rating in the Euro NCAP safety rating test, making it one of the safest vehicles out there.

The I-Pace, Jaguar’s first electric car, scored 91% for adult occupant protection, 81% for child occupant protection and 81% for safety assist. It also scored maximum points for side barrier impact and the side pole test with good overall protection of the critical body areas.

The car has high levels of stiffness, thanks to its lightweight aluminium body structure. This structure when combined with the integral battery pack, protected by a structural aluminium frame delivers the highest torsional rigidity of any Jaguar yet, at 36 kNm per degree. Other body design highlights include use of aluminium forging and applications of post-form heat treatment to increase the strength of aluminium alloys used in crash-critical areas.

Other safety features on the car include a deploy-able bonnet and Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. Jaguar has also developed an Audible Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) for the I-Pace that warns road users when the vehicle is approaching. In addition to these, the performance SUV offers Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, Blind Spot Assist and 360° Parking Aid.
