Jaguar has unveiled its long wheelbase XE sedan designed for the Chinese market.
The long wheelbase Jaguar XE has been showcased in China, the car is exclusively designed for their market. British carmaker, Jaguar has decided to cash in on the demand for stretched versions of standard cars in China. It is the company’s second LWB offering, it follows the XFL that was revealed in China last year.
For the XEL, Jaguar has increased the wheelbase by 1000mm when compared to the standard XE. The wheelbase length is now 2,935mm on the XEL. Other than the increased length, the car remains mechanically identical. It uses the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine making either 200hp or 250hp.
On the inside, especially the rear, it is bound to feature rear-seat entertainment, a larger sunroof and additional features to distinguish it from the standard XE. In China, the car will take on the likes of the BMW 3Li, Audi A4L and the Mercedes C-class L.
