Kia Seltos GT Line Gets Aftermarket Performance Upgrade

In its stock form, Kia Seltos Turbo gets upgraded to develop 170 bhp and 310 Nm torque.

After making its India debut in August last year, Kia Motors have entered the segment that has long been led by Hyundai Creta. Kia launched Seltos at an enticing starting price of Rs 9.69 lakhs (ex-showroom). With the launch of Seltos, the company has managed to garner good sale numbers in comparison to the other mid-sized SUVs in the market. Kia Seltos has been a hit majorly due to the sporty exterior, feature-packed interior and powertrain choices. It was the diesel model of the Seltos that sold the most last year accounting to 43 percent. The petrol variants too have managed to attract customers in good numbers.

Under the skin, the Kia Seltos features 3 engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.5-litre unit that churns out 114 bhp power and 144 Nm of peak torque. While the diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-litre oil mill that belts out 113 bhp of maximum power output with 250 Nm of peak torque. There is also a high-performance 1.4-litre T-GDi four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 138 bhp power and 242 Nm torque exclusively present in the GT Line trim. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox along with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Recently, a custom firm named Code6 Bangalore took advantage of this powertrain. The tuner company used Stage 1 EUC and BMC air intake to increase the power by 32 bhp and torque by 68 Nm. Now this particular engine delivers 170 bhp power and 310 Nm torque in its stock form.

Apart from the performance upgrade, the SUV remains untouched especially on its exterior design. The compact SUV continues to ride on the 17-inch Y-spoked alloy wheels from the GT line trim. Other design highlights include UVO Connected car tech, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a red coloured GT line badge on the front grille and red highlights in the lower section of the front bumper and side profile. The cabin continues to boasts of an all-black theme with contrast red stitching. It also gets contrast red stitching on the flat-bottom steering wheel with metal finished pedals.
