Kia Sonet Pre-Bookings Begin in India

Kia Sonet can be pre-booked at a token amount of Rs 25,000 through Kia dealerships or official website

After unveiling its third product offering Sonet in the Indian market, Kia Motors has now announced pre-bookings for the subcompact SUV. The pre-booking is all set to begin from today. Interested buyers can book the All-New Kia Sonet through the brands dealerships across India or via their official website at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Upon launch, Kia Sonet will be offered in two variants - Tech Line and GT Line. The prices according to variants will be announced towards the festive season.

Cosmetically, the Sonet gets a tiger-nose black finished front grille with chrome surrounds up front. In addition, there are sleek LED headlamps integrated with LED DRLs. At the rear, it provides full LED tail lights, a rear diffuser, and dual exhaust pipes. A Kia badge will be mounted on the sculpted tailgate. At the sides, it gets 16-inch alloy wheels along with muscular-looking wheel arches with black cladding.

Speaking on this announcement, Kookhyun Shim, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Kia Motors India said, “The Sonet is Kia’s answer to customers in the compact SUV segment who want style and substance, quality and features, performance and technology, comfort and safety in one compelling package. The Sonet has been engineered and built with Indian inputs and is a global model for Kia from India. India is the first country in the world where the Sonet goes on sale, and with the commencement of pre-bookings, we are confident our smart urban compact SUV will be warmly received in the country”. 

The cabin of the Sonet will boast of the largest and best-in-class 10.25-inch HD touchscreen with navigation and live traffic. The subcompact SUV comes with India’s first smart air purifier with virus protection. It also features ventilated front seats. Other highlights include BOSE Premium seven-speaker audio system with subwoofer, LED sound mood lighting, OTA map updates, multi-drive & traction modes along with grip control, and wireless smartphone charger with cooling function.

At the heart, the SUV will be offered with three engine options. The petrol variants will be powered by a 1.2-litre engine linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There will also be a 1.0-litre turbocharged unit mated to a 6-speed gearbox along with a 7-speed DCT as an option. While the diesel variant will offer a 1.5-litre engine coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
