Kia Sonet Sets New Record with 6500+ Bookings in One Day

Kia Sonet has registered 6500+ bookings in one day in the Indian market. The upcoming subcompact SUV has set a new record by bagging 6523 orders on the very first day of booking. For those asking, the pre-orders for the Sonet started yesterday, i.e. August 20, 2020, across the country at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Kia Sonet launch in India will take place in mid-September with detailed price announcement. Being manufactured at Kia’s state-of-the-art production facility at Anantapur, it will be exported to several global markets.

Kia Sonet bookings can be made either online at the official Kia Motors India website or at the company authorized dealerships across the country. It will be offered in two trims levels: Tech Line and GT-Line. The former trim will be offered in five derivatives - HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+ - while the latter will be introduced in a fully loaded GTX+ trim. As for features, Kia Sonet will come loaded with Smart Pure Air Purifier with virus protection, BOSE premium seven-speaker sound system with subwoofer, Ventilated driver and front-passenger seats, LED Sound Mood Lights, Remote engine start via UVO Connect and Smart Key, Wireless smartphone charger with cooling function and the best-in-segment 10.25-inch HD touchscreen system with navigation and live traffic information.

Kia Sonet will debut 30+ best-in-class features with Kia’s signature UVO Connect suite of technologies with a range of 57 features including the UVO Voice Assist feature. The safety feature list is as exquisite as the comfort feature list. The subcompact SUV is packed with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, HAC, VSM and BA. Mechanically, it will be offered with two petrol (1.2L naturally aspirated and 1.0L turbocharged) and one diesel (1.5L CRDi) engine with a choice of five transmission options. This includes five and six-speed manuals, an intuitive seven-speed DCT, first in segment six-speed torque converter automatic, and Kia’s revolutionary new six-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). The iMT (AMT) tech first debuted with Hyundai Venue earlier this year.
