2018 Auto Expo is a full throttle zone for Korean carmaker Kia. It has brought out its biggest guns to showcase its capabilities, technology and ultimately impress the Indian car buyer. And one of its biggest stars is the Stinger GT which with its sexy silhouette and award winning design stands apart from the Teutonic German rivals it competes with.
The Stinger sits at the top of Kia’s international product line-up and would have served as a halo model in India; but the automaker decided to not bring it here, following concerns regarding its sales potential in the country. Also, bringing it via the import-route would have priced it way out of contention with its rivals and finding buyers in India would have been difficult for a relatively unknown brand.
Internationally, the Stinger is available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive forms. And competes with the likes of the Jaguar XE and BMW 3-Series. Performance wise its quite the cracker too with 370hp on tap from its 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine.
MV Agusta's CEO Timur Sardarov said in an interview, "MV Agusta is entering the biggest relevant market in the world, which is 350cc to 500cc. We are coming up with a new 350cc engine, we have it, it’s a twin."
