KTM is likely to introduce a 250 version in its Adventure range in India. Recently, the bike was spied testing on Indian roads. However, this is not the first time that the adventure motorcycle has been spotted doing the test runs. There have been multiple occasions in the past where we have seen prototypes of this upcoming bike. But these latest spy shots reveal that KTM 250 Adventure is almost production-ready and is most likely in its final testing phase. This gives us a hint that the bike is likely to be launched during the festive season towards the end of October 2020.
From the spy images, we can only make out the rear and the side view of the motorcycle. However, the older spy shots do reveal how the front fascia of the bike will look like. Upfront, the bike was spotted using a halogen headlamp instead of a full-LED headlight set-up. Recently, the company updated the Duke 250 with full-LED headlamps. We are still not sure if the brand is going to give the same update to the upcoming 250 Adventure. Furthermore, the quarter-litre dual-spoke motorcycle is seen riding on split 6-spoke alloy wheels similar to the ones found on the 390 Adventure. The bike will also get the same 5.0-inch TFT instrument cluster like the one present in KTM 390 Duke and 390 Adventure. Other notable features that the two-wheeler might get is the dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch.
Under the frame, it will draw power from a 248.8cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out 29.6 bhp power and 24 Nm torque. The engine will be linked to a 6-speed gearbox and will come equipped with electronic fuel injection. This is the same engine that powers the BS6 250 Duke as well. As for the suspension, then just like the India-spec KTM 390 Adventure, the 250 Adventure will also get a non-adjustable 43 mm USD fork up front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock towards the rear. In terms of brakes, it will get a 320 mm disc in the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear.
Until now KTM 390 Adventure was the only ADV available in the company’s product portfolio. KTM India launched the bike earlier this year at Rs 3.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Going by this price point, the motorcycle still remains out of reach for most bike enthusiasts in the country. Thus, keeping this in mind, the brand has decided to introduce a dual-sport motorcycle in a more affordable range for its customers. KTM 250 Adventure is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 2.3 lakh - Rs 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom).
