KTM India has announced an extension in the service and warranty periods of all its products in the country. All the KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles will have their warranty benefits and free service period extended by two months due to pandemic-induced lockdowns and travel restrictions in several states across India. The warranty and free services which were previously valid till May 31, 2021 will now be applicable until July 31, 2021. Recently, Honda 2-Wheelers India too had extended warranty and free vehicle service benefits till 31st July 2021 across all its dealership networks pan-India.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Sumeet Narang, President, Bajaj Auto (Probiking) said, “Due to the second wave of the pandemic, various states have announced lockdowns and we are aware that customers may struggle to get their vehicles serviced on time, or avail warranty benefits that may have expired during this period. Hence, we have rolled out a two months warranty and service extension across all KTM and Husqvarna models.” KTM Probiking showrooms nationwide will pass on the benefits of extension of free service and warranty to all its customers. Earlier, several other auto manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai and Renault had also announced extension in warranty and service.

Meanwhile, in other news, KTM is all set to introduce a total of five new 490 bikes in 2022. These will include Duke 490 Street bike, 490 Adventure, RC 490, an unnamed enduro bike and a supermoto bike. The last two models might not make it to the Indian shores. The new 490 series will utilize the parallel-twin configuration as compared to KTM’s 390 range of bikes which use a single-cylinder engine. Besides these, Bajaj Auto (KTM India’s parent company) has already started the construction of its new factory in Pune. This new factory will be dedicated to its premium range of motorcycles that includes KTM, Husqvarna, and Triumph. We can expect it to be operational by 2023.
