KTM is planning to enter the fast-growing bicycle market in India. The cycle market is expanding steadily as more and more Indian buyers are making a move towards the segment. The sustainable means of commutation saw a spike in demand during COVID-19 pandemic enforced lockdown. To tap into the burgeoning demand, KTM has tied up with Indian cycling brand AlphaVector. The information comes through our friends at HT Auto. AlphaVector has now become the exclusive distributor of KTM bicycles in the Indian market. Thus the prices of these cycles would be in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 10 lakh.
The KTM range of cycles will comprise of hybrid, all-terrain, fat tire and mountain bikes among others. The wide range of KTM cycles will come equipped with telescopic forks and disc brake up front. Additionally, the cycles would come with a derailleur transmission system and Shimano gears. The inclusion of KTM bicycles will expand AlphaVector’s offering in the premium segment. It recently added e-bicycle Meraki last month. Talking about the Meraki cycle, it comes powered by 250 watts, IP 65, BLDC motor. The cycle comes with a 6.36 AH Lithium-ion battery, it takes 2.5 hours for a full charge.

Johanna Urkauf and Stefan Limbrunner, Managing Director of KTM Bike Industries spoke on the announcement to the media outlets. She said, "For 56 years, we bleed orange.
