Lamborghini Registers All-Time Best Sales in 2021

Lamborghini has registered its all-time best sales numbers in 2021 by retailing 8,405 cars globally while recording a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth of 13 percent. It is the brand's best ever year as far as sales numbers are concerned since its inception worldwide. The Asia Pacific region, consisting of Chinese Mainland, South Korea, Thailand and India, saw strong sales performance with 2,249 units being delivered to customers. Lamborghini Urus was the leading volume driver for the company with 5,O21 units while 2,586 units of the Huracán were delivered, followed by the 798 Aventadors (V12 model).


Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, commented: "This record has provided confirmation of four factors for us: the solidity of our strategic plan, our brand’s outstanding international reputation, the competence and passion of our people and the exceptional professionalism and dynamism shown by our l73 dealers in 52 markets, who have continued for invest alongside us at a challenging, uncertain lime.” Lamborghini had launched three new products last year in the form of the Huracán STO - Super Trofeo Omologata, the Aventador Ultimae - final series of the Aventador model and the Countach LPI 800-4 - marking the 50th anniversary of the Countach.


The Italian supercar brand further informed that it has already covered the entire production planned for this year. Lamborghini plans to unveil four new products over the next 12 months. It will spend over €1.5 billion in the next 4 years towards the future electrification strategy while introducing the first hybrid production model in 2023 and electrifying its entire range by the end of 2024. Moreover, a fourth fully electric model will be launched in the second half of the decade. Winkelmann added: “We are stronger than ever as we prepare to embark on a period of profound transformation and move towards an even more sustainable future. In '2022 we’ll be doing our utmost to consolidate the current results and get ready for the arrival of our future hybrid range from 2023 onwards.”

Along with the Chinese Mainland which is one of the markets that contributed to the robust sales performance in the Asia Pacific region, South Korea recorded 354 cars (+17%) while Thailand and India attributed to 75 cars (+32%) and 69 cars (+86%) respectively. The remarkable performance of the four markets comprise 63% of the total cars delivered within the Asia Pacific region in 2021. Francesco Scardaoni, Regional Director of Automobili Lamborghini Asia-Pacific commented, “It was an incredible year for Lamborghini in the Asia Pacific region despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic. With the strong support from our network of professional dealer partners in the region, we have achieved great success together through a series of product launches from the Huracán STO to Aventador Ultimae and Countach LPI 800-4."
