Land Rover Australia has revealed a brand-new limited special edition Defender 90 to celebrate Australia’s surfing culture. This special edition is based on the diesel version of Defender 90 with a limited 15 units to be available for sale in the country. Powered up by JLR’s 3 L inline-6 twin-turbo engine, the model churns out a peak output of 245 bhp and a peak torque of 570 Nm.
The exterior boasts several unique features, such as an all-terrain tire-wrapped 18-inch steel wheel, grille highlights, door handle accents, and a matte Pacific Blue paint finish contrasted with a white roof. The car is equipped with drive modes, an electronic air suspension system, a sliding panoramic roof, and privacy glass. The 15 units are equipped with an Aqua Sports Carrier, side-mounted gear carrier, locking wheel nuts, black roof rails, portable rinse system, and a custom Defender surfboard.

The special edition's interior features include white accents on the door panels and steering wheel, a white powder-coated dashboard, heated and power-adjustable 12-way Ebony leather front seats, and an improved Meridian sound system. Interestingly, each model has distinct "1 of 15" badging.
The company announced that they will begin shipping the limited-edition blue version in May 2024.
Since its initial release in late 2020, the Land Rover Defender has shown to be a popular model. Land Rover India's total sales in 2023 were largely dominated by SUVs, with over 1,000 delivered in just one year. Defender 90, Defender 110, and Defender 130 are the three sizes available for the Defender in India.
